Organic food better for us?

I feel as though food has gotten out of hand over the course of years with things like genetically modified food, federally regulated food, and the sustainability of that food. Nowadays most food is genetically modified so the food will grow faster and be bigger. The food that is out in the supermarkets goes through all of these processes of management. These big businesses have control over the food that is shipped out and put in the store that now its much cheaper to buy to buy the food that are made with all of these artificially ingredients than it is to buy out of the farmers market.  I wonder if organic food can feed the world and would our society be better off if organic food was cheaper and easier to come by than genetically modified food? We seen this happen recently in our school. During club’s day the school clubs were only able to sell healthy food that meet with certain requirements and as a result not much people bought food during club’s day.

  1. You'd think that buying an ingredient would be cheaper than buying the actual product ^^' Its quite sad too know that there was once a time that food wasn't modified and in many if not every way healthier. It also sucks how our school finally made a change for the better, many people weren't please at all. I for sure wasn't. I still remember how it was only last year that one club was selling bacon rapped corn dogs and now its go-gurts and such.

  2. I totally agree with the both of you, I will never understand why a burger at Wendy's is only two dollars but to buy meat or even one organic apple from Sprouts is the same amount. It is sad because people do not have the money to make these type of decisions. So the thing that is keeping them alive, is also killing them slowly. Most people do not understand this which is why they continue to eat food that is unhealthy.

  3. i agree with you daniel because it has totally gotten out of hand. Our food supply has gotten out of hand because the food that we now eat is honestly not trustable. we all know that it is injected with Genetically modified organisms and from what we have been learning in class they are not good towards our health. our food is now being grown as fast rates all just to keep up with consumer demands. industrial farming has mainly been wiped out by all these food industries so yes that means that the food with no modified organisms has been almost faded from us. who knows but genetically modified organisms might just be the cause of all these new food borne illneses
