Cell Phones

To me, honestly, the fact that people can see every move we make on our phones sounds really creepy.  I will admit, I have my phone in my pocket 24/7 because I'm always texting people or keeping up with social media or trying to beat my cousins on Trivia Crack. I know in the back of my mind that everything I do on my phone is stored somewhere. Even if you delete a picture off of your computer, for example, it still exists even though it isn't showing up on your computer. If you use Google Maps to find directions on how to get somewhere, even that information is stored on the Internet. I'm still one of those rare people that still make phone calls instead of texts once in a while and I know that my phone conversations are probably tracked too. I'm glad we don't live in a world like it is in 1984 because I would hate it. I don't like the feeling of being watched non-stop and that being a reality would make it even worse. I hope the government doesn't make the world more tense by adding webcams everywhere you can be seen.

  1. I have to agree with you somewhat Nicole. This issue of surveillance has been taken over board to a level of exaggeration. Surveillance where they are watching you from webcams that are attached to a computer is really creepy and not right what so ever. There are rumors that they even watch you from front display cameras on iphones. Im sure you knew that you are under surveillance when you are out on the streets but with that sort of surveillance I think its fine. It helps keep a look out for crimes that might be committed under the radar of police. Just think how much better it would be.

  2. I also have my phone in my pocket all the time, but I'm not too worried because I don't really have anything to hide. But still, the more articles I read and the more we talk about it, the more I realize how fast surveillance is growing and how privacy in the distant future may not seize to exist anymore. I am also glad I don't live in a world how the book perceives because that would be flat out annoying.

  3. I'm always on my phone 24/7!! you know i can never set it down. But, its crazy to think that we are being observed her website we click on , every app we open, and any transactions we make. All that information is gathered and kept. To be honest I'm not scared of it because its not like they are spreading it. We are pretty lucky that we are not like oceania and having the whole big brother surveillance . The people their are actually controlled and manipulated. Unlike us, they are doing it for our own protection but they are not taking our freedom away from us.
